Join the us on Tuesday, Nov. 28 for our Giving Tuesday campaign, #ILGive! The 24-hour campaign is designed to engage Illinoisans in philanthropy by giving back to the communities they live in. The David L. Hoyt Foundation works closely with the Chicago Public Library and other community partners and organizations to bring play-based and collaborative learning to students of all ages with the GIANT Word Winder and the GIANT Math Winder. But we need your help to continue our work! Last year, we were able to raise more than $7,000 through #ILGive, which we used to bring games and programming to more than 20 Chicago Public Libraries in the summer of 2017. We were also able to set a Guinness World Record for the “Largest Playable Word Winder Board,” in partnership with the Chicago Public Library. We currently provide programming twice each week to three library branches in diverse Chicago communities, and recently completed our latest project, Word Play Way, is a 5,000-letter word grid installation that runs along Welles Park on Lincoln Avenue between Sunnyside and Montrose Avenues. Our fundraising goal for this year is $10,000. Donations officially opened Nov. 14 for those who are unable to give on Nov. 28, however, we encourage supporters to participate in the national movement by donating on Giving Tuesday. The event begins at 12:00 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating #ILGive. Thank you in advance for your support!
