​In the Chicago Public Library:

The David L. Hoyt Education Foundation has participated in the Chicago Public Library's Summer Learning Challenge since the Summer of 2015.  Each year we visit 21 libraries around the city and bring programming to roughly 400 kids each Summer. The ages of the participants vary, they're as young as 4 and as old as 17. Additionally, we also provide  library visits throughout the year, as we are often requested by the librarians to come in and facilitate programming for the kids.

During the Summer of 2017, in addition to our usual SLC programming, we also helped the CPL set a Guinness World Record for "The Largest Playable Word Winder Board." This event was open to the public and provided programming, activities, and supplies to roughly 100 kids and their families.  Overall, in the last 3 years,  the David L. Hoyt Foundation has brought programming to roughly 1,500 kids throughout Chicago in partnership with the CPL. The library uses the GIANT games (Math & Word) within their Children's libraries.
