Word Play Way!

What is Word Play Way? We are going to create a massive word grid that families and neighbors will be able to engage with as they walk the length of the sidewalk. Letters will form words that are fun and appropriate for kids and tie back into the neighborhood. An artist will design a font, community members can help create stencils, and help install the word grid. 

• Why is Word Play Way being installed? We believe that the Lincoln Square community is an active one, so we want to create something that neighbors can interact with, but also something that will act as a catalyst for literacy outreach.
• Where will Word Play Way be installed? The grid will be installed by spray painting the grid of letters designed by an artist and organized by Jumble author David L. Hoyt on the Sidewalk that borders Welles Park to the East along Lincoln Avenue between Sunnyside and Montrose Ave.
• When will Word Play Way be installed? Installation for Word Play Way will begin in early September and last until April, 2018. 
• Who is installing Word Play Way? The David L Hoyt Education Foundation in partnership with Goodcity and The Chicago Community Trust, The North Center and Lincoln Square-Ravenswood Chambers of Commerce and ArtReach at Lillstreet.
