We would like to thank Liz McChesney, the Director of Children's Services at CPL, and Brian Bannon, the Commissioner & CEO of the CPL, for making this event possible. We also give special thanks to Chicago's First Lady, Amy Rule, for attending the event and helping our Super Explorers set the World Record. A special thanks also to Make-a-Wish Illinois' newest kid superhero Super Black for attending the event as well as our guest judges Maya and Riya Joshi , citywide Spelling champions.
We also want to thank all of the David L. Hoyt Education Foundation's volunteers along with all of the wonderful volunteers and librarians from the Chicago Public Library, including our wonderful puppeteer Marilyn Price, our talented musician Rick Kelley, and our superhero cartoonists Jeff Knurek & Bill King for lending us their drawing superpowers for the day. We also especially want to give thanks to our two independent witnesses, Clifford Kroeter and Kevin M. Casey, and our expert surveyor Jerme Bentley for helping record our Guinness World Records record setting attempt.
We want to additionally give a SUPER special thanks to our very own superhero librarian John Mangahas for making this event a huge success and to our partners Sparkling Ice for their generous donation which allowed us to purchase the 20 games necessary to set the record, as well as their delicious water for our superheroes to replenish their powers.
Big thank you to all and enjoy!~
