Join the David L. Hoyt Education Foundation for its dedication of Word Play Way, an outdoor word grid that will run through the Lincoln Square community, on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided at the event, and face painting will be available for children. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Jumble author David L. Hoyt.

The grid will be comprised of nearly 5,000 letters, forming words that are child-friendly and tie back into the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Many of the words have also been translated into Spanish. For a full word list, click here.

Using semi-permanent spray paint and letter stencils designed by Bit Space, Word Play Way will provide community members with interactive learning opportunities as they walk along the sidewalk bordering Welles Park on Lincoln Avenue between Sunnyside Avenue and Montrose Avenue.  The installation will last through April 2018.

For more questions about the event or if you would like to volunteer, contact Executive Director Claire Haasl at claire@davidlhoytfoundation.org. We hope to see you there!
